A windy Day in the Garden

Today I worked in the garden pulling out weeds and tidying up. It was the Ngatimoti festival and I could hear the music playing boom boom boom over the sound of the wind in the trees. Daisy dog wasn't far away. The vibernum carlesii pictured here is planted on Daisy's predecessor's grave. She was Holly and a much loved member of our family for sixteen years. This vibernum is in flower now and has a wonderful perfume. Daisy is with Oscar in the photo, he is our lovely Oriental cat who is helping me type this. The photo was taken a while ago, Daisy is almost 5 years old now.

Our Cat Henry

This is Henry our lovely Siamese fellow. He is quite a character and definitely not a morning cat. He often crawls into our bed before I have even made it and stays there all day. I am too soft to make the bed while he is so cosy in it. He is also a hair plucker and you can see on his side where his hair is a bit thin. We love him all the same.

Another Rainy Night

And we have had so many this spring. The daffodils are on their way out. This evening we took Daisy for a walk in the Paddock - over - the - creek and Oscar appeared too, it was raining steadily and he was rather vocal about it. Daisy bustled about, it was good to get out in the fresh air after being inside all afternoon. The daffodil group came on Sunday and we had a shed show. Yesterday we cleaned up the left over flowers and I bought enough inside for three lovely vases full. One of our seedlings was Champion Bloom. Here is a photo of it. And here is a photo of one of the vases of flowers.
